Weekly Update – 20th April

A Thing of Beauty

A deep pink rose became visible from the office window, and on Palm Sunday, I went
outside to observe it more closely. The tiny bud, that has now burst into bloom with
vibrant shades of pink allows me to marvel at God’s creation in nature.

Ah – a thing of beauty.

Some of you may have heard of Reverend Steve Coneys who now works at diocesan
house.

He discusses and encourages Christians to identify where they see God working in their
lives or others’ lives.

So, have you spotted the second thing of beauty? Yes, you’re right, the motorhome
parked on the driveway. Why is it a thing of beauty? Well whilst it is very old and is
gathering green moss on its roof, for someone who doesn’t camp in a tent, (ME) it
allows me to glamp instead. I have been to Big Church Day out, New Wine, David’s Tent
and Creation Fest. Deep teaching and worship that allows me to be uplifted and
remember if all I can give is my worship, not only will our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
delight in my singing, even if I sound off key to human ears, the beauty is that I am able
to recall those holidays, retreats that the motorhome allows me to enjoy and be
refreshed in the Lord.

What is your thing of beauty? Try to identify something for yourself. Perhaps share it
with someone over coffee. Such reminders can be helpful during challenging times,
serving as a reminder that Jesus remains with you, continues to reign sitting on the
throne of Heaven, and will return again soon.

Blessings, Reverend Claude
