Weekly Update – 18th May
This week’s Gospel reading comes from John 13.33-35 and says so much about love. Agape love, which is unconditional. It’s easy to name things that are done without motive but when we drill down deeper, are we spurred by emotions?
I was pleased to spend part of my day on Thursday this week with St Paul’s Fellowship group. A cloudy day at Great Comp Garden[1], where care and attention was given to wheeling around two elderly former members of St Paul’s. I was moved by the devotion that was bestowed to making sure these ladies were spoken and listened to. I wonder why people matter in your life, especially when we ourselves are growing older?
I have not yet had the opportunity to be a part of Pippin at St Nicholas, yet I already have a sense that here too, church community interactions are genuinely expressed, just as I saw at St Paul’s.
