Weekly Update – 15th June
The Old Testament reading for Trinity Sunday is from Exodus 3.1-15. In summary, Moses approaches a bush that appears to be burning. He hears the voice of Yahweh (God) telling him he is on Holy Ground and should remove his sandals. Not only does Moses do this but he hid his face because he was afraid to look at Yahweh.
I question whether one could ever look at Yahweh. It’s not something that is on my bucket list nor on my mind. In fact, the human mind cannot contain Yahweh, for to do so would be to put Yahweh in a box. St Augustine said, trying to fit Yahweh into the human mind is like trying to fit the ocean into a tiny hole in the sand.
Listening to scientists, academics, theologians debate and discuss topics is indeed interesting. I wonder how long you can follow such debates. Some of you may enjoy this and have thought provoking questions that allows the discussions to take a new turn and the debate could rumble on for hours.
For me, there are somethings in life that I like simply to accept. The mystery of The Holy Trinity, The Incarnation of Christ, why my eyes leak tears when I’m overcome by a touch of His Presence. Is there anything in life that you just simply have to accept, or does everything require an answer?
