Rev Chris’s Christmas Update 2021

Dear all,

The last candle on our Advent Wreath in church will be lit on Christmas Day as a symbol of the coming of the light of Christ into the world. My online Christmas message, on Facebook and Website, will focus on the significance of symbols that can guide us towards that light. We need to hold on to such positive and hopeful messages in these challenging times as the possibility of new restrictions remain on the table to contain the effects of the continuing pandemic.

We can also hold on to the fact that we have been able to have carol services this year and there is every indication that we can go ahead with our other plans, albeit cautiously. This is certainly a forward step from last year.

Despite all that is going on let me wish you a healthy, safe, and happy Christmas, whatever your plans. I’m not intending to issue an update next week, although should there be significant information that needs to be communicated then I will endeavour to do so as necessary.

May the joy of the angels,

the eagerness of the shepherds,

the perseverance of the wise men,

the obedience of Joseph and Mary

and the peace of the Christ-child be yours this Christmas;

and the blessing of God Almighty,

the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,

be among you and remain with you always. Amen.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Rev Chris
