Rev Chris update for 1st & 8th August.

Dear all,
The school holidays are upon us, the weather is OK’ish, and there is cautious optimism around the easing of the pandemic. This is good news, and we hope, and pray, that the positive trend will continue whilst recognising the need to take things a week at a time.
You will not be surprised to hear that I am having some holiday, which means that the church will not be open next week other than for events i.e., Tuesday Café and Wednesday Communion with Mother’s Union.
We are taking things gradually with our services and, as mentioned last week, you no longer need to book but we are asking for face coverings to be worn, for now, whilst moving around inside church – once seated they can be removed, and singing is permitted. There will be refreshments this coming Sunday (and the following Sunday), as these will be outside as the weather is due to be fine and people can mingle freely, without face coverings, if they choose to do so.
On Tuesday 24th August, at 7pm, I will be licensed as Interim Priest in Charge (two-year license) at St Paul’s, Boxley Road. You are more than welcome to come to that licensing, just let me know.
On the community front Chris Cook has asked me to mention that he is in need of volunteers to help with the Sunday Lunch Club that will be starting up again in the Autumn. Please contact Chris on 670240 or chrisgcook@hotmail.co.uk (volunteers will be subject to the usual safeguarding protocols).

So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
There will be no update from me next week as I am away at the seaside, but I will ask Katie, our Parish Administrator, to re-issue the Services & Events page, next Friday.

Blessings,
Rev Chris
p.s. please note from Services & Events that Encounter, normally on the 4th Sunday, will be on the 3rd Sunday (15th August) this month – it will be both in church and online, so join Jackie to sing some wonderful worship songs.
