Rev Chris update
I write this week having returned from holiday and, not unexpectedly, things have changed further in terms of the rules and guidelines we need to follow. As you can imagine this makes planning incredibly challenging – in terms of services our focus must be Christmas and how we present the joy of that message to as many as we can.
In the meantime, we will continue with our mix of ‘online’ and ‘in church’ services. It is so encouraging that we have such a mix so please do make the most of them – the schedule for the next two Sunday’s is attached as is the service sheet for the online service this coming Sunday.
A particular challenge is our schools work and I am giving Fiona Higgs greater autonomy to develop ideas – she is currently our Children’s & Families Minister but will also now become our Schools Minister.
I am very much aware of the need to develop the social and spiritual life of the church in these difficult times. With that in mind I am considering how we can set up groups in accordance with government ‘rule of six’ guidelines – I shall say more on this next week.
The annual meetings for both our churches are coming up shortly and, as per the attached notice, these are being held over Zoom. The codes are provided but if you are unable to access Zoom, and wish to attend, please let me know and I will ensure that a means is found by which you can be present.
