Rev Chris update 20th December
Dear all,
So here we are in the final run up to Christmas in this most difficult of years. Attached is a document detailing services. As I mentioned earlier this week, sadly, it was necessary to cancel the planned Carols & Readings for this Sunday, however, as things stand now everything else is due to go ahead so please do make the most of all that is available whether online or in church.
Please do note that St Nicholas Church has been open every day through Advent for private prayer and this will continue to be the case across the Christmas period. The church has now been decorated with many Christmas trees from around the community and looks stunning – come and sit in the church, for private prayer, and soak up the atmosphere, accompanied by the sound of carols playing quietly in the background.
Thank you to all who gave time and energy to decorating and donating their trees – we have had them from sources such as the local primary schools, Allington Alligators, Women’s Institute, Mother’s Union, uniform groups, various church groups as well as from individuals. I’m only sorry that we couldn’t have a festival as originally planned but at least we have been able to present a community coming together within the church building.
Finally let me wish you a very merry Christmas, however you are managing to celebrate within the current guidelines. There isn’t going to be an update next week, but I will be back the week after. In the meantime, please keep the Food Bank donations coming in as they are needed more than ever – just leave them in the porch at The Rectory.
Every blessing for Christmas and the New Year,
Rev Chris
