Prayers – July
‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.’ Psalm 100 v 4-5
Lord, we do come before You with our praise and thanksgiving. We can testify to Your care and concern for us as a Church. We know that You are faithful, You are unchanging, You are Holy and You alone are Lord of all. We praise You for Your steadfast love for Your people, for Your gentle guidance and for Your forgiveness when we fail to follow Your way.
‘And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.’ Colossianns 3:17
As we come together to celebrate 50 years of worship in this church building, we thank You, Father, for the life You have breathed into the Church. We thank you for all the faithful people who have gone before us, who faithfully ministered Your word to the community. We thank you for Your Holy Spirit constantly guiding the church over the years.
We pray for all the people represented in St. Nic’s today. Please continue to bless and guide the church, steering it to be the church You want it to be. We give thanks for Rev Claude, thank you for guiding her to join us. Bless her and her family, continue to guide them and protect them.
May we grow to be a blessing to the community, reaching out to those who haven’t yet found their way to You. We ask that You give us Grace to be a powerful united witness to the love of Jesus in a troubled world. May we always bring glory and honour to You.
We pray for Bishop Rose as she joins our celebration. Bless her, give her courage, wisdom and fill her with Your Holy Spirit as she fearlessly witnesses to You. Thank You for her, for her message and her faithfulness.
‘You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.’ 1 Peter 2:9
Lord, we are so grateful, may we always remember that we are Your people and declare Your praise by our words, thoughts and deeds.
We continue to pray for the dark places in the world, for those living in hardship, fear, poverty. May the love and peace of Jesus be brought into their lives. Let Your kingdom come into our world, Lord
