Prayers – July 2019

Jesus said: ‘ When you pray, say: ‘ Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name…..( Matthew: 6:9) Let us join in praising the name of God, He ordained us for a relationship with Him, let us enjoy His presence.

‘O Lord our God , how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise.’ Psalm 8: 1-2

We pray that we will remember to come into the Lord’s presence with praise. We ask ,Lord, that our relationship with you will mature, that we recognise you as a loving heavenly Father, eager to meet with us.

‘Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’: Matthew 6:10

As we recognise how far we in this nation have strayed from the truth, we cry out to the Lord to bring us all back to His ways. Give us the strength and courage to stand up for the Gospel. Please help us to understand that our prayers are important, when we pray, you intervene. We are so grateful for the freedom we have to worship the one true God. As we gain a new Prime Minister and a solution to Brexit, we pray that we will continue to have that freedom.

We ask the Lord to reveal the plan He has for us as we seek to bring those around us into His kingdom. We pray that we will see His vision and that we will have the courage to join in with what He is doing. Let us come before our Father confidently remembering that He loves to meet with us and wants to reveal more of Himself to us.

As we read in 1 Corinthians 15: 58……’ Therefore, my dear brothers, ( sisters included), stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.’

We continue to pray for those suffering persecution because they follow the Lord, please pray for them continually as they stand firm under appalling conditions. May their witness not be in vain, may it bear fruit.

‘The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.’ Psalm 9:9-10
