Prayers
‘We all live off His generous bounty, gift after gift…this exuberant giving and receiving, this endless knowing and understanding – all this came through Jesus, the Messiah.’ John 1:16-17 (MSG)
We thank you Father for all the good things we receive in our lives, for the earth which continues to provide food despite our abuse of resources, for the generosity of friends and family, for those tirelessly working to deliver goods in difficult situations. May we never forget, Lord, to be grateful to You and generous to others, unselfish, reflecting Your spirit of giving.
‘Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.’ 1 Chronicles:11
We pray for all those who continue to live with danger around whether from natural disasters or from man’s inhumanity. May You draw close to them and give Your comfort. Thank you for the people who answer Your call to minister in harsh circumstances, give them cool heads, strong hearts, courage, and perseverance.
May we remember the words: ‘Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’ Joshua 1:9b
Thank you, Lord for Your encouragement, help us to have faith in You and Your promises as we pray for our friends, family, church, community, nation and our world. We trust, Father, that Your Spirit is alongside us helping us to pray according to Your will that Your kingdom will come.
‘For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.’ Habbakuk 2:14
