Prayers
‘Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” Nehemiah 9:6
Lord God, as Nehemiah called on men to worship you, we join those who still call on your name, praise you as Lord & creator of all things, the provider of all we have, & yet….the God who hears our prayers.
In these troubled days we pray for Afghanistan, for all those in fear and danger. We bring to you particularly those who worship you, we pray that they may be comforted by your promise of eternal life. We ask that they know you are with them, please Lord protect them and keep them from harm. Give wisdom to those trying to help them
‘I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.’ Phil 4:13
Please, Lord, encourage your people, wherever they are to seek you, let us not be discouraged by criticism, apathy, being a minority in the community. We are your church, alive throughout the world, our faith is in your love and your promises, may we be sensitive to your voice even in the midst of turmoil.
Help us Lord to remember those words of Jesus ‘I was a stranger and you invited me in.’ (see Matthew 25: 35-36) Let us not be found wanting in your sight. We have so many blessings, may we be willing to reach out to those with nothing. Thank you Lord.
We praise your name.
