‘O lord, God of heaven and earth, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and obey His commands, let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open to hear our prayers.’ Nehemiah
Lord, we pray for your people everywhere, that we may grow in love and knowledge of You, enable us to stand firm in Your will, not being swayed by worldly opinions and principles. Help us to live godly lives strengthened by Your Holy Spirit.
We give thanks to You for bringing us safely to this time when life is beginning to approach ‘normal’, but we also ask You to be with those who have struggled, please give them hope for the future. Remind us of Paul’s words:’ Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’ 1 Thess.5:16-18
We give thanks for all the teachers who have succeeded so well in continuing to provide education; for the support staff in schools. We pray that the holidays will give them time to re-charge and relax.
We pray for all church leaders and their families, enable them to move forward confidently knowing that they are doing Your will. May they be richly blessed as they work to bring Your kingdom into being here on earth.
Finally, Lord, we pray for all those living in areas of conflict, whose lives have been touched by tragedy. Please, Lord, immerse them in Your love and lead them through the darkness into Your light.
‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’ Psalm 34:18
