Prayers for July 18
‘The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song, I praise Him.’ Psalm 28:7
Lord, we put our trust in You to bring us through these strange times. You have never failed us when we seek Your counsel. Help us Lord to look to You, to take to heart Your promise to be with us in whatever we face, not to be influenced by worldly wisdom, may we praise You day by day.
We ask, Lord, that Your Holy Spirit will fill us with Your wisdom: ‘ The wisdom that comes from Heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favouritism and is always sincere. ‘ James 3:17
As guidelines change, please enable us to show honour to those around us, to think more of others than ourselves, to consider the feelings of others. We know, Lord, that this is an anxious time for many, may we not do anything in our own strength but strive to bring Your love & wisdom into every situation that Jesus may be glorified.
‘Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures for ever.’ Psalm 136
