Prayers
‘Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.’ Psalm 95: 6-7
Lord, may we never forget that You are worthy of our worship & praise. You alone regard us with loving kindness forever. You are a stronghold when we need strength, a shelter in the storm, merciful toward us when we fail to live according to your word.
We pray that we may grow in knowledge of You, help us to look at those around us & see them with Your eyes. May we not be judgemental, critical, uncaring. Give us the desire to treat all people with honour, there are so many seeking help…freedom from persecution, war, poverty, natural disasters. You are strength to those who suffer and comfort to those who grieve, may they find you and be comforted. Help us to play our part wherever we are able.
Again, Lord, we pray that Your church will be a calming presence, light in the darkness. May we be a voice of hope and compassion in difficult times. We ask, Lord, that your church will be filled with your Holy Spirit, firmly focused on Jesus, walking in Your will. Please, Lord, give us insight & wisdom as we need it.
We continue to pray for our community, the schools, the businesses, the hospitals, the shops, we pray for Your love and mercy to reach them.
‘Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted above the nations, I will be exalted above all the earth.’ Psalm 46:10
Thank you Lord for this promise.
