Prayers – February 2025
‘Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’ 1 Thessalonians. 5:16
Dear Lord, thank you for the many blessings we have in our lives, for friends, family, homes, food on the table for Spring approaching. May we always hold closely the knowledge that You are with us in all circumstances.
We give thanks for Rev. Claude joining us and St. Paul’s very soon. Thank you for Your guidance through the Interregnum, for the awareness of Your presence as we navigated the challenges of the last 2 years, for the blessings we have experienced as a Church. We ask that You continue to lead us by Your Holy Spirit as we prepare for Rev. Claude to lead us over the next stage of our growth. Bless her abundantly as she moves into her new role. Give us all wisdom and discernment as we work together to bring the knowledge and love of Jesus to our community.
‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.’ Psalm46:1
We pray for the world today; we pray for hope and peace to surge. We lift up to You all those affected by natural disasters, may Your provision, peace and protection enfold them. We pray for all those still caught up in conflict, we ask that political stability be restored. Give wisdom and integrity to world leaders, may they work for the good of the people they represent and not for their own power and glory. We ask for Your Grace and goodness to flow so that we can all live alongside each other.
We bring before you the Christians of Syria as a new regime takes power. we ask for tolerance and understanding from those in authority so that the country may prosper and the citizens have freedom. Please, Lord, protect the vulnerable, enabling them to live in safety.
Thank you for hearing our prayer, give us the grace to follow the words written by Paul:
‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.’ Romans 12:12
