‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.’ 1 Cor. 13:4-7

Lord, we thank you for all the people who have mothered us throughout our lives. For all those who have cared for, comforted, challenged and encouraged us. We pray for all new mothers, for those raising children in poverty or alone, give them strength, support and wisdom.

We pray for all mothers separated from their children, for adoptive and foster mothers, please, Lord, give them courage, wisdom and hope.

We pray for all those unable to be mothers, bring your comfort and love into their lives. We give thanks for all for step-mothers, godmothers, all those who have assumed a caring role in a child’s life,  give them joy in sharing their love. Give them wisdom, understanding and compassion.

We ask, Lord, that You comfort all those for whom this is a time of sadness, help them to remember and be thankful for good times shared.

The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine has asked Christians worldwide to Pray Psalm 31 for his country. Please read it and ask the Lord to bring the promises therein to fruition for that besieged country.

‘Praise be to the Lord, for He showed His wonderful love to me when I was in a besieged city.’ Psalm 31:21

‘Be strong and take heart all you who hope in the Lord.’ Psalm 31:24

Lord, we join with your people worldwide in holding Ukraine up to You. Have mercy on her citizens, bring peace and restore the land. Let Your will be done.
