DIOCESE Praying with the West Bridge Deanery Area

Dean: Cathy Sigrist

Loving Lord, we give thanks for all that you are doing here in the West Bridge Deanery and for the new shoots that are beginning to grow and develop. We pray for your guidance and wisdom as we review and update our Deanery Mission Plans and give thanks for the many gifts and talents that so many individuals bring and share to enable these plans to be implemented as we work “Towards a Flourishing and Sustainable future”. We ask your blessing on all who serve in the Deanery, giving thanks for all the volunteers who work so tirelessly in your name. We pray that You will enfold all who minister in our Deanery in your loving arms and that they may know and receive your love, care, strength and peace.

‘Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise. The Lord made the heavens. Splendour and majesty are before Him; strength and glory are in His sanctuary.’ Psalm 96: 4, 6

Lord, you are a truly amazing God, You created the universe with nothing but your voice, You care about Your creation, You care for each and every one of us. Thank you for everything You are…Holy, good, compassionate, just, true, loving….and You never change. Thank you for your love for each of us.

‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’ 1 John 1:9

We acknowledge, Lord, that we often fail and fall short of Your best for our lives. Please forgive us for those times and enable us to keep our eyes focussed on You. Help us to surrender our lives to You.

‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.’ Romans 8:28

Lord, as we have started this year with various restraints, we ask that You continue to show us Grace. Give wisdom to our politicians as they make difficult decisions. Bless our medical professionals, teachers, employers, employees, the sick, the bereaved, the forgotten. Guide our church leaders as they seek to lead your people in the days ahead. In all Your greatness, be close to each of us in the way we need You most.

We ask, Lord, that You bring hope to our world. Help us to trust in Your promises in the months ahead, comfort those who are distressed, we pray, Lord, that through Your Holy Spirit, we will hold on to the knowledge that You love and care for us. Let us continue to pray for our family, friends, church, nation and world.

‘Praise be to the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God., 2 Cor.1:3

‘Have faith in God.’ Mark 11:22
