PRAYERS

DIOCESE Praying Together: For Mission in our Diocese

Lord Jesus Christ,

Help us to demonstrate your grace and

mercy to all those that cross our paths today.

May we also be ready to tell others of the

love that you have shown to us, especially

as it is revealed through your death and

resurrection. We ask for the courage to speak

up when opportunities are given to us and

the wisdom to shut up when we have said

enough. Empower us, we pray, through your

Holy Spirit to become faithful witnesses in all

areas of our lives.

Amen

‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures for ever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.’ Psalm 100:4-5

We pray, Lord, that at the start of each day, we recognise You above all else. Open our eyes to see You at work in our lives, give us wisdom to make the right choices. Thank you that Your presence goes with us, You are our strength in all circumstances and Your peace is there for us. We ask for Your Grace to be with us, to allow us to act with courage and compassion daily.

Thank You, Lord, for the beautiful world in which we live, an earth which provides all our necessities. May we all act in the best interests of mankind, not allowing greed to lead our actions. May the earth continue to be bountiful supplying us with good things. We pray for all those involved in agriculture, forestry, industry, may they be blessed by acting responsibly in the best interest of all.

‘He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.’ Psalm 113:4

We continue to cry out to You for all under attack, from war, poverty, agression, homelessness, especially the chidren. You, Lord, care for all men, women and children, we pray that You will have mercy on the countless children who are alone, bring them to a place of safety, allow them to find comfort and security.

We ask, Lord, that You intervene in the destruction taking place in Ukraine, give wisdom to those seeking peace, may a solution be found quickly. We pray too for our Government, may they resume the tasks for which they were elected that our country may prosper and our people be able to work, eat and live in peace without anxiety for daily needs.

‘Not to us, Lord, not to us but to Your name be the Glory because of Your love and faithfulness.’ Psalm 115:1
