DIOCESE Praying with the Ospringe Deanery

Area Dean: Steve Lillicrap

Lay Chair: Miranda Ford

Secretary: Peter Willcock

Treasurer: Hilary Tulett

We give thanks for our recent Deanery Synod where we shared with each other and discovered what God is doing amongst us. God is at work in His Mission! Please pray for us as we discern His mission priorities for the Deanery of Ospringe. There was a real conviction of the need of – and a call to – prayer as a Deanery. Please pray for the GEM trailer outreach to children and families in the Deanery, as well as our Youth Clubs, also pray for our Wednesday Church Reading, (a new congregation in one of our villages); and for the churches offering hospitality, outreach and support to school children and their parents.

On this Easter Sunday as we continue to live with anxieties relating to the pandemic, as war rages in Ukraine and as we encounter a rising cost of living let us recognize the agony of the cross but also the joy and the hope of the resurrection as we hold our lives, and our world, before God in the words of the prayer of St Francis of Assisi;

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek

To be consoled as to console;

To be understood, as to understand;

To be loved, as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

Hallelujah, Christ is risen,

He is risen indeed, Hallelujah
