DIOCESE Praying with the Ospringe Deanery

Area Dean: Steve Lillicrap

Lay Chair: Miranda Ford

Secretary: Peter Willcock

Treasurer: Hilary Tulett

We give thanks for our recent Deanery Synod where we shared with each other and discovered what God is doing amongst us. God is at work in His Mission! Please pray for us as we discern His mission priorities for the Deanery of Ospringe. There was a real conviction of the need of – and a call to – prayer as a Deanery. Please pray for the GEM trailer outreach to children and families in the Deanery, as well as our Youth Clubs, also pray for our Wednesday Church Reading, (a new congregation in one of our villages); and for the churches offering hospitality, outreach and support to school children and their parents.

‘Rejoice greatly, Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ Zechariah 9:9

Thank you, Lord, that this promise, written so long ago, was fulfilled by Jesus on Palm Sunday. Thank You, Father, that although He knew what lay ahead, He pressed on, in peace, with love for Your people. Thank you for His obedience which gave us access to You. When we are anxious, facing the unknown, may we be aware of Your presence, incredibly close to us. May the peace Jesus showed that day rule our hearts.

Thank You, Lord, that Your will was accomplished, that Jesus was willing to walk through pain, trial and agony because of His great love. As we see the frailty of our fallen world, the uncertainty surrounding Covid, fuel costs, war in Ukraine, the tumultuous times we are living through, may we draw strength from Your peace. As we navigate difficult days and trying times, let us remember that You have given us all we need to live each day to the full purpose You have designed for us.

‘So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ John 12:13

Let us join in prayer to rejoice in the victory of Jesus over death. We give thanks that He reigns in victory. Thank You for that unbelievable love which has set us free, for the gift of Your Holy Spirit walking with us day by day giving us the wisdom, strength and grace we need.
