WEEKLY PRAYERS
O Lord, you have searched us out and you know us; you know when we sit down and when we get up; you see us at work, you see us at rest, you know just what we are like. Before the word is off our lips you know what we are going to say. Lord, you are all around us and your hand is upon us. Wherever we go you are there with us, your hand guiding us, holding us fast. However dark it gets, it is not dark to you; your eyes follow us, you can see us. For you created us, formed us before ever we were born- how wonderfully you made us. We praise you, Lord, you know what each day will bring and when we wake you are with us. O God, you search our hearts, you lift our anxieties, you take away our sin, you lead us in your eternal way, and we praise you, Lord. AMEN (From Psalm 139).
Lord, we pray for all the efforts being made both in our own country and throughout the world to overcome the pandemic. We pray that our leaders and scientists may work together to overcome the virus. We play especially for those who have lost their jobs or whose jobs are threatened at this difficult time. We pray too for employers whose businesses gave closed or likely to close due to the virus. Help us to be aware of their needs and support them where we can. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN
Lord Jesus, the friend of all who obey you; who died that we might be forgiven, to whom we look for help at all times, who rescues us from danger: be merciful to those who are lonely and to those who are weak; relieve them of their worries and save them out of their troubles, consider their distress and suffering and forgive them their sins; help them to trust in you and share with them your salvation; for your tender mercy’s sake. AMEN
God our protector- we trust in you for safety, we depend on you for all we need, all good things come from you: we commit our future and those of the Churches we serve into your hands- guide us by day and by night, be near us so that nothing can shake us, make us always aware of your presence, show us the path that leads to life, let your Spirit fill us with joy and let your service be our delight for ever. AMEN (From Psalm 16).
