DIOCESE Please pray that despite the restrictions, we will not be prevented from keeping alive the memory of those whose lives have been lost, or deeply affected by war and conflict. We will remember them. As we keep the two-minute silence today, and on Wednesday, may we thank God for their sacrifice and pray for peace wherever there is conflict.

WEEKLY PRAYERS
Lest we forget: This week is a time for reflection and remembering: We pray, Lord, that we will be reminded of your power, glory and majesty: ‘ The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.’ Psalm 19. As we look around us, may we constantly reminded of you as our Creator, be amazed at the beautiful world you have given us, and give you thanks.

Lest we forget: ‘ You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light’ ( 1Peter 1:9). Thankyou Lord that we are your people, you chose us to bring you praise and worship, to spread your word, to be light in a dark world. We ask for your strength, courage and guidance with us daily.

Lest we forget: ‘The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.’ Deut:31:8 Thankyou Lord that your promises are eternal, we can trust completely in your word. You know our frailties and our doubts and will walk alongside us daily to encourage and enable us.

Lest we forget: we remember with thanksgiving all those who have given their lives to allow us to live in freedom. We lift up to our Father everyone who is striving to keep us safe and living in peace today….in the Armed Forces, the Police Force, in Security services, please give them compassion, integrity and wisdom in their decisions. Protect them as they go about their lives. May we never take for granted the freedom we have.

Lest we forget: Lord, there are so many in the world who live in fear, poverty, captivity, danger. Help us to reach out wherever we can to help relieve their suffering. We ask that you bless the work of Alongside Africa, Barnabas, Open Doors. May we be open to giving freely out of our time, energy and resources to support your work. Thankyou for everyone working alongside the needy, the rejected, the oppressed.

Lest we forget: Let us remember to support with gratitude those in our church who are working in uncharted waters to keep the church functioning. We pray especially for Rev. Chris, Fiona, Nigel, Jackie, Margaret, Ruth, Mike, Sarah as they provide physical and online worship.

Lest we forget: ‘As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and for evermore.’ Psalm 125:2
