Prayer for 11th October

PRAYER SPACE – 11th October, 2020
DIOCESE PRAYING FOR RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES
Loving God, we pray for all those who live and work and connect with the Residential Care Homes in our Diocese. For the residents who live in them, may those around them help them to feel safe and comforted. For those who work in them, may they feel valued as they give sacrificially of themselves as they serve others. For those with family members there, may they feel peace that their precious loved ones are cared for. We thank you for those who work so tirelessly in the care of others, bless them with your grace, peace and love each day.

WEEKLY PRAYERS, from Angela Redford, Prayer Coordinator for St Nicholas Church
Let us bring to the Lord our thanks, praise, and worship, for:
He is worthy, He is the God who created the world and everything in it
He only is the one true God
He reigns for ever and ever
He is seated On His Holy throne. He has established His throne in heaven, and He reigns over all.
He is holy: ‘For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His Holy name’
He is immortal, He is eternal, His promises last for ever.
He is perfect, ‘As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless.’

We bring to our Father our prayers for our families, our friends and neighbours, our Church, our Community, our Country, our world. We pray that He will be with us as we go from day to day, making decisions, interacting with those we meet. May we be confident in the knowledge that He goes before us as we walk in His ways.

We continue to pray for strength, wisdom and understanding for all those in power: in business, government, the Church, education, medicine and research. We ask that their decisions will be for the good of all We pray especially for Christians in positions of influence, may their voices be heard. ‘Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.’

We pray for peace in our hearts during these days, let us not forget to bring everything to God, He created us, loves us and knows us intimately. He knows our joys, fears, needs before we mention them. We pray for everyone who is anxious about the days ahead, may we all be aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit with us. Please, Lord, give us: the peace that passes all understanding. ‘You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.’ Isaiah 26:3
