Prayers – October 2019

‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ‘ Romans 15:13

As the country continues to struggle with Brexit, let us remember that we are able to bring our anxieties to a living God. We pray that He will keep his hand on our nation and have mercy on us. May His kingdom come here in the U.K.
Let us continue to lift up to the Lord the Queen and all those in government who are making decisions about our future. (1Timothy 2:2-3). May they have wisdom and integrity in their negotiations.

We pray for the decisions made at the PCC away day, we ask that we will not be guided by our own thoughts and wishes but that we will truly know God’s plan for His church. May we be able to join with the Psalmist in saying ‘ I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.’ He alone can show us the way forward.

Help us Lord not to forget the great things you have done for us in allowing us to make our building functional for the community. Thank you for the money which has arrived as we needed it. We thank you that everything has gone so smoothly. Please help us now use this building to connect with the community to share the love of Jesus, we want to be salt and light.
We ask, Lord, that you fill your building and your people with your Holy Spirit, so that Jesus will be glorified in Allington.

Please Lord help us to become a caring group, aware of each other’s needs. Jesus said ‘ Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.’ Mark 3:34-35
We pray that everyone will know that they are part of our family here at St. Nic’s

Please continue to pray for all those on the notice sheet and prayer cards.

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.’ Proverbs 3:5-6
